Seaturns Featured in the First French Blue Tech Index
Recognizing maritime innovation and the transition to sustainable energy
A major milestone for French maritime innovation
On December 19, 2023, a key step was taken for the French maritime sector with the launch of the very first ranking of maritime startups: the French Blue Tech Index. Initiated by the Cluster Maritime Français (CMF) and supported by Indosuez Wealth Management, the goal of this index is to promote maritime innovation in France and support the growth of startups in this field.
The index was unveiled during the event “Les Jeudis de l’Innovation Maritime”, held at the National Maritime Museum in Paris, in the presence of Hervé Berville, Secretary of State for the Sea.
Objectives of the French Blue Tech Index
This index aims to increase visibility for French maritime startups, facilitate access to funding, and connect them with investors. It responds to a growing awareness of the need to protect marine ecosystems and accelerate the ecological transition, especially through ship decarbonization and initiatives for sustainable fishing and aquaculture.
The index features 35 startups grouped into 7 categories, each selected for their impact and innovation in key areas such as ocean protection, marine renewable energy, and maritime digital data processing.
Seaturns recognized in the “Energy” category
In this first edition, Seaturns was selected in the Energy category. The startup is developing innovative wave energy solutions and is among the companies leading the future of maritime energy transition. Their inclusion in the index reflects the growing importance of green and marine technologies in addressing climate change.
Key partners and supporters
The initiative is backed by prominent actors in the maritime sector, including:
Hervé Berville, Secretary of State for the Sea, who emphasized the need to support young companies contributing to a sustainable blue economy.
